Sunset Park School has sent new guidance to staff allowing the use of Santa Claus as a part of a multicultural display. In addition, the school has never had a policy against any Thanksgiving, or other celebrations in the school. Finally, PS 169 does recite the Pledge of Allegiance in school classrooms as well as at major school events. It will also be recited over the PA system every morning going forward.

Sunset Park School After-School Program

Every Wednesday and Thursday from 2:45 pm to 4:30 pm.

Saturday Academy is from 9 am to 12 pm, begins on Sat, Dec 5, 2015 for 3-5 grade students.

K-2 programs: Arts and Crafts Lab, Art of Mythology, Book Cook, Drama Club, Drawing and Painting, Academic Support.

3-5 programs: Animation and Claymation, The Art of Painting, Chess Club, Children of the World Chorus, Dance and Choreography, Drama: The School Play, Group Violin Lessons, The Little Kids Rock (Music/Instruments), Student Leadership Team (5th grade only), Saturday Academic Support

Asthma workshop

Asthma Workshop

The Asthma school-based program provided from Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield for third graders. It consists of a 45 minutes classroom presentation for children and teachers. Students are engaged through role playing and demonstrations of asthma management tools like inhalers and spacers.
